The Bitter End Yacht Club on the easternmost point of Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands. We stopped here overnight during our cruise. Had a wonderful dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere at this beautiful resort, before continuing on our voyage the next morning. You can only get here by boat. There are no roads connecting to the rest of the island.

Here we are cruising eastward into the trade winds in the Sir Francis Drake Passage, sailing from Tortola to Marina Cay in the British Virgin Islands. Ken, Sandy, Diane and I chartered this 40 foot center cockpit Beneteau from Sunsail in Maya Cove, Tortola, for a week last April. Don't expect to see any pictures from me taken from atop the mast. Standing in the bow with the jib flying is enough of an adventure for me during a vacation.

Sail up to an uninhabited tropical island, drop anchor, dinghy ashore, look back at your boat and take this picture. Now if only we could figure out a way to live like this all the time instead of just on vacation! Sandy Cay, British Virgin Islands...or just call it Paradise.

Enjoying the warm waters of the British Virgin Islands from inside one of the many caves created by the jumble of boulders at the western end of Virgin Gorda. This is a great place to swim if you want to stay out of the sun.

Ever want to be alone on a deserted tropical island? We were. This is a picture of our sloop taken from a shady little nook on Sandy Cay, British Virgin Islands. For a while this morning, we were the only people in the anchorage and on the island. A fantasy that became reality.
