Goat Island Light as seen from the dock at Cape Porpoise near Biddeford Pool, Maine. The lobster boats face the ocean on this nearly perfectly calm day. It is often much less serene.

The schooner Appledore reaches across Sandy Bay after rounding the breakwater at Bearskin Neck, Rockport, Massachusetts. Honest, the name of this body of water is Sandy Bay. Hard to believe while looking at this shoreline, isn't it?

Ogunquit's "Back Beach" on the right and the rocky shore along Marginal Way on the left. A beautiful stroll in fine weather here at low tide. The approaching weather front is obvious from this vantage point.

The Ogunquit Memorial Library. It was built in 1897 and has served the little seacoast community well, even in the busy summer tourist season. If you want to see where I think they got the stones to build this, check out the shoreline in other pictures of Marginal Way in the archives.

Enjoying the view on Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine, overlooking Oarweed Cove. Always beautiful, but somehow more so after a week of torrential rains.

Perkins Cove, Ogunquit, Maine. The morning after the flood of 2006 which washed out roads North, West and South of the town. The only way out seemed to be by boat to the East! Looks amazingly tranquil here now, doesn't it?
